Brentwood/Westwood, CA Meeting Planning Overview

Like their tiny neighbor Bel Air, Brentwood and Westwood are part of the City of Los Angeles; similarly, meeting venues in Brentwood and Westwood tend to be few, small and select.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the main airport servicing both Brentwood and Westwood. The airport is approximately 13 miles south of both districts in the Los Angeles suburbs of Westwood.

There are more hotel venues in Westwood than there are in Brentwood, which has only three—the 208-room Angeleno, 160-room Luxe Hotel and 21-room Brentwood Inn. Westwood has the 47-room Hilgard House Hotel & Suites, 258-room W Hotel Los Angeles-Westwood, 36-room Royal Palace Westwood, 295-room Westwood on Wilshire Hotel, 116-room Beverly Hills Plaza Hotel (which is actually in Westwood) and the 264-room Hotel Palomar Los Angeles Westwood, a Kimpton Hotel.

The internationally famous J. Paul Getty Museum in Brentwood, which is always free to enter, has a private dining room above its restaurant that seats 54 persons and provides some amazing views. Special event venues in Westwood include the 430-acre UCLA campus, which features the Plaza Room for 375 persons and the Grand Horizon Room for up to 600 (and to which can be added a semicircular terrace with good views for a further 350). The Fowler Museum can host up to 326 in its Harry & Yvonne Lenart Auditorium, 150 in its Elizabeth & W. Thomas Davis Courtyard and 400 in its outdoor Arts Council Amphitheater.

What Brentwood and Westwood lack in venue and hotel options, they make up in restaurant choices. Dining venues in Brentwood include Katsuya, where the chef is sushi guru Katsuya Uechi, the design is by Philippe Starck and groups can enjoy the work of both. At Maria's Italian Kitchen Brentwood (one of nine restaurants in the family-owned chain) delicious and home-style Italian dishes can be enjoyed by groups. Another Westwood restaurant, simply called Hoboken, also serves an Italian menu, as does its next-door sibling, Matteo's, with similar food but with a little more upscale presentation and ambiance. The Napa Valley Grille has five private rooms that can seat a total of 166 persons; its patio can look after 60 persons, too, while the entire restaurant can be secured for up to 1,000. Lastly, everyone's favorite fast-food burger chain, In-n-Out Burger, has a branch in Westwood.
