Buffalo, New York is the home to America's oldest coordinated system of public parks and parkways, designed by the renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), in concert with his partner Calvert Vaux and other subsequent partners. Today the majority of Olmsted's designs in Buffalo are substantially intact and represent one of the largest bodies of work by the master landscape architect. The Olmsted designed portions of the Buffalo park system are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

J. Edward Nash House

J. Edward Nash was the pastor of the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church from 1892 until his retirement in 1953. Rev. Nash's leadership and presence in Buffalo's African-American community during 50 years of the 20th century earned him legendary status in the community. Rev. Nash wrote many sermons and letters in his study at 36 Nash Street. Those letters and sermons play an integral part of Buffalo's African-American community history. Many of the nationally known African-American leaders that Rev. Nash brought to Buffalo were houseguests at the Nash home

Designated a local preservation district in 1978 and listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1980, Allentown is one of the first and largest residential historic districts in the United States. The Allentown Historic Preservation District is bound by North Street to the north, Main Street to the East, Edward Street to the South, and Plymouth to the West, and is walking distance from downtown Buffalo, the West Village, the Elmwood Village, the Fruit Belt neighborhood, and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

Frank Lloyd Wright Rowing Boathouse

The Frank Lloyd Wright Boathouse was built to serve as a working rowing boathouse. The Boathouse provides a much-needed resource for the West Side Rowing Club, the nation's largest rowing club, who has provided the Buffalo-Niagara region with access to the sport of rowing. Their high school, college and community programs produce championship crews and have won national recognition for the Buffalo-Niagara region. In addition to being a working boathouse, the building is accessible to architectural tourists who are interested in experiencing its authentic spaces.

The Buffalo Transportation/Pierce-Arrow Museum houses a world class collection of cars, motorcycles, bicycles and memorabilia from several decades. Buffalo-made vehicles, as well as sport- and muscle-cars are showcased. The name Pierce-Arrow was once one of the most recognized and respected names in the automobile industry. For 38 years, the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company produced some of the finest automobiles made, and for over 20 years, Pierce-Arrow supplied cars to the White House for the use of the President.
