Fitzwilliam Museum

Museum
1 mi. away
Fitzwilliam's bequest included 144 pictures, among them Dutch paintings he inherited through his maternal grandfather and the masterpieces by Titian, Veronese and Palma Vecchio he acquired at the Orleans sales in London. During a lifetime of collecting, he filled more than 500 folio albums with engravings, to form what has been described as "a vast assembly of prints by the most celebrated engravers, with a series of Rembrandt's etchings unsurpassed in England at that time". His library included 130 medieval manuscripts and a collection of autograph music by Handel, Purcell and other composers which has guaranteed the Museum a place of prominence among the music libraries of the world.

Cambridge Bike Tours

Recreation
1 mi. away
Truly the best way to explore this beautiful and fascinating city, which is famous for cycling. Get off the beaten track and discover hidden gems with our knowledgeable guide. The only tour of Cambridge that takes you along the river to see the college boathouses, the University Real Tennis Club and the best spot in town to photograph Kings College Chapel. There’s an emphasis on having FUN! whilst seeing as much of the city as possible. We have a choice of tours that include the City, Grantchester and River Pubs. We also have a package combining a bike tour, lunch and punting that is very popular. We cater for all ages and abilities. It doesn’t matter if you are a single traveller, a family, couple or even a hen party, you are going to have a great time. There is a choice of bikes provided for the tour including immaculately refurbished antique British bikes with baskets, mountain bikes and even electric bikes. There’s no need to be particularly fit as we take a leisurely ambling pace to really soak up the atmosphere, however If you feel like you could do with a boost, I can certainly recommend one of our electric bikes and then you’ll be the fastest in the group.

Cambridge Punting

Recreation
1 mi. away
Cambridge Blue Punting was established to provide the best and most exclusive private punting tours on the river Cam; the way the river should be enjoyed. Our tours meander along the river Cam taking in The Backs of the colleges and their bridges. Splendidly English! You'll feel like you are stepping back in time. The Bridge of Sighs at St. Johns college, the Wren library at Trinity, Kings College Chapel and the Wooden Bridge at Queens are just a few of the sights. We use traditional mahogany wooden punts and only have respectable Cambridge residents and students as chauffeurs who are well presented with years of experience. We don't rush our tours and typically take an hour or so to soak up the atmosphere of The Backs. As we provide Private Tours we can tailor each tour, although we have a standard format that highlights the most interesting elements of the river which has proved very popular. We specialise in private punting tours for romantic couples, families, tourists, corporate groups, hen parties and schools. There are never any queues and we would never ask you to wait for your punt. Booking is therefore essential as we prepare the punt in plenty of time for your arrival and work to your schedule. Our reputation is built on reliability as well as professionalism on and off the river. We are not the biggest but are certainly the most exclusive with an emphasis on personal service so we won't ask you to fill out forms. To make a booking send us an email and we would be happy to accommodate you. We also arrange one-off specific events for groups so please contact us for a professional proposal.
