Chevy Chase, MD Meeting Planning Overview

Of all the neighborhoods in and surrounding Washington, DC, Chevy Chase is easily one of the wealthiest. Considered a village by most, it boasts a popular shopping district and well-groomed residential streets that make way to a community that welcomes meetings. Entice attendees with the elegant storefronts and accessibility to Washington, DC, then knock their socks off with unique and swanky Chevy Chase event venues.

With air service from nearby Ronald Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Chevy Chase event venues are easily accessible. Ground and public transportation are easy to navigate, and most hotels offer shuttle services. Chevy Chase is served by the red line of the Metrorail system through the Friendship Heights station, connecting the neighborhood to all the hot spots of DC, including direct access to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, Dupont Circle, and the Metro Center Station, where all the lines connect—giving access also to Union Station (Amtrak), Reagan National Airport and other locations in nearby Virginia.

Chief among Chevy Chase event venues, the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, with its Southern-style architecture, stands tall on Connecticut Avenue. Inside, up to 450 people can be seated for a banquet function or 550 people for a lecture; while 41 meeting rooms, a gracious lobby and courtyard reception space make for a versatile facility. But for the ultimate in East Coast social experiences, host a small gathering at either the Chevy Chase Club or the Lakewood Country Club, which is slightly less intimate but just as appealing. Its ballroom space is comparable to that of a hotel in both visuals and capacities.

While the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is headquartered here, hotel venues in Chevy Chase include the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, the Courtyard Chevy Chase and the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavillion.

Chevy Chase itself is predominantly shopping, dining and residential, with an abundance of private dining rooms to choose from. Dining venues in Chevy Chase that cater to groups include La Ferme, which can accommodate up to 175; Persimmon, which can accommodate 60 in its main dining room and 20 in a private dining space; and Famoso Restaurant and Lounge, which groups can buy out for up to 250 persons.
