Cobb County, GA Meeting Planning Overview

Cobb County is made up of several quaint and charming small towns including Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Mableton, Marietta, Powder Springs, Smyrna and Vinings. Located just 10 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta, Cobb County's event venues make it a popular meeting destination for groups who are looking for affordability, but also accessibility to everything that the big city has to offer. Cobb County is 30 minutes from Hartsfield Atlanta Jackson International Airport, and is connected to almost all of the city's major highways, including interstates 75, 285, and 20, which make navigating the Greater Atlanta Area a breeze.

There are a slew of convention venues in Cobb County, starting with the sleek Cobb Galleria Centre which features 320,000 square feet of state-of-the-art space, 144,000 square feet of exhibit space (all on one floor), a 25,000-square-foot ballroom, 20 meeting rooms and four boardrooms. As a bonus, the facility offers groups complimentary parking and meeting planners will enjoy receiving plenty of assistance from the Atlanta Galleria Trade Show Alliance.

Connected to the 521-room Renaissance Waverly Hotel, the Galleria is also linked by sky bridge to the 278-room Sheraton Suites Galleria. Both properties have recently renovated, with the Renaissance offering more than 60,000 square feet of flexible event space and the Sheraton 4,000 square feet of meeting space. A total of 2,828 hotel rooms are found within one mile of the convention center. Dozens of shops and restaurants are also within walking distance.

Renting the Cobb County Civic Center provides groups with 15,694 square feet exhibit space, three meeting rooms and a 10,704-square-foot ballroom. Nearby, the 2,750-seat Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre hosts opera, ballet, Broadway, concerts, and more. Meeting planners hoping to take advantage of Atlanta's milder climate will be pleased to learn of the facility's 3,100-square-foot outdoor terrace. The Centre also boasts a 10,000-square-foot ballroom and access to public transportation.

Organizations who are looking for ways to give back may want to consider the new and contemporary Mansour Center, which offers 8,000 square feet of exhibit space, four meeting rooms, seating for 350 and a 4,000-square-foot ballroom. Revenue generated by venue rentals helps support programs for low-income families in the area.

Some of Atlanta's legendary restaurants are actually Cobb County venues, including Canoe, Ray's on the River, the Vinings Inn, and South City Kitchen, and many offer private meeting space. Just 10 minutes away are Buckhead's many upscale attractions, shopping, and dining options.
