Internet access, spa, sauna and pool, log fire, licenced bar and special/specific needs accommodated The Marlborough sits on a ridge at the entrance to the Cooma Town with views of the distant mountains. The Snow Season Motor Inn welcomes visitors with 60 well-appointed units and suites. Specializing in quality accommodation for discerning travelers, this luxurious property is an ideal base for a ski excursion in winter or for discovering the Snowy Mountains at other times of the year. The Snow Season Motor Inn has the well-appointed Regency room to cater for your conference needs. Combined with our 60 rooms of available accommodation, the Snow Season Motor Inn is the ideal venue for your next conference or social function. Back in the heydays of 1963 Sir Reginald Ansett’s airlines and travel businesses were flush with success and he ensured valued customers were looked after in the best of styles. Part of his dedication to his travel businesses saw the design and building of The Snow Season Motor Inn Cooma (formerly known as Best Western Marlborough Motor Inn). He needed a coach stop between Sydney/Canberra and the Snowy towns of Jindabyne, Thredbo and Perisher, where drivers and passengers alike could relax, refresh and relax before going on to pursue snowy winter sports. A large Alpine Chalet with two floors of rooms radiating from the central reception and restaurant area provided the town of Cooma with one of its original modern, stately and riveting architectural designs. Over the decades the Motel saw its fair share of ups and downs, make-overs and renovations. There were boom times and sad down times and the regular snow-sport devotees became accustomed to seeing this grand old dame of a motel resplendently settled on the first hill coming into the town of Cooma. In 2009 it was purchased by Chandra and Saras Singh as a 3.5 star 60 room/unit Motel that had seen better days. Reg Ansett had long gone bust and the previous owners were almost going the same way. Good reviews and recommendations were few and far between and Best Western had acquired the motel as part of its chain. In 2 years Chandra and Saras have worked tirelessly to transform the Motel into the independent, immaculate guest haven that it now is – and with a property that encompasses over 3.5 acres, this is not always an easy thing. We believe our Motel is unique in its nature as a result of several outstanding features: the types of accommodation that are available; its unique location; its singular climatic positioning; the broad market appeal to different clientele and its distinctive architectural characteristics. We have single, double and twin rooms as well as family units, spa suites and rooms that are disability friendly. There are two floors of rooms/units available so that different levels of mobility and/or disability are easily catered for. Groups of up to 6 or 60 are also catered for as are functions for over 100 people. The township of Cooma in the Snowy Mountains region is considered to be the ‘gateway’ to not only the Snowy Mountains but to the High Country, romanticised and made famous by Banjo Patterson’s poem, and later the award winning movie, ‘The Man from Snowy River.’
