Meeting Planning in Denver, CO

The Colorado Convention Center

For meeting attendees and planners coming to Denver, the Colorado Convention Center is a definite highlight. The center underwent a great expansion before opening in December 2004. It is now considered to be the 8th biggest convention center west of the Mississippi River. The new exhibit level provides visitors with over 584,000 square feet of space that can be easily split into six individual halls. Outside, spacious terraces afford lovely views of the Rocky Mountains as well as the downtown Denver skyline. The terraces are popular locations for parties and other festive gatherings.

Colorado Convention Center can accommodate very large groups, with 63 meeting rooms that cover 100,000 square feet, an 85,000-square-foot ballroom and a smaller 35,000-square-foot, both of which can be easily segmented to meet the needs of different room set-ups and requirements. On top of this, an additional 50,000-square-foot ballroom can be split into 18 separate meeting spaces. However, perhaps one of the most touted features of the center is the Wells Fargo theatre, which can seat 5,000 people. A multi-purpose facility, the theatre can serve as a lecture hall, a general session area or even a concert hall.

In addition to providing great meeting and presentation space, the Colorado Convention Center is equipped with a host of modern technological advancements to ensure that meeting information can be presented to attendees efficiently and effectively. All meeting rooms, exhibit halls and offices have connections to the Fiber Optic Network. Furthermore, the facility has been set up with wireless Internet connections in virtually every space, so convention guests can connect to the Internet whenever and wherever they choose.

Getting to and from the Colorado Convention Center is simple. In addition to a spacious parking garage that can accommodate 1,000 vehicles, guests can also reach the center via the new Light Rail Train Station located underneath the garage. And of course, the Colorado Convention Center's highly central location also makes it easy to walk to many of Denver's entertainment and nightlife options. Convention guests can step out of the Convention Center and be within walking distance of over 7,500 hotel rooms, 300 restaurants, nine theatres in the Denver Performing Arts Complex and a wide variety of shopping opportunities.
