TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center), an ASM Global Managed Facility
Detroit's TCF Center serves as the centerpiece of the city's meetings and events venues. A recent $279-million expansion has transformed it into a world‐class convention and meeting facility, with 723,000 square feet of exhibition space; more than 100 meeting rooms with seating capacities from 100 to 1,725 attendees; the new 40,000‐square‐foot Grand Riverview Ballroom; and a three‐story glass atrium that features views of the the RiverWalk promenade and Windsor, Ontario, just across the Detroit River. The center provides one of the largest continuous exhibit floor plans in North America. Adjacent facilities include the 12,191-seat Cobo Arena and the 20,525-seat Joe Louis Arena.
TCF Center boasts numerous amenities, including catering by CenterPlate, and free Wi-Fi. The People Mover Detroit's public transportation rail system, has an indoor station at the center.
Suburban Collection Showplace
The largest privately owned exposition, conference and banquet center in Michigan, Suburban Collection Showplace boasts 214,000 square feet of exhibit space; 25,000 square feet of pre-function space and with its versatile Diamond Banquet and Conference Center, 19 individual breakout rooms and the Diamond Center's own 20,000-square-foot Diamond Ballroom. Opened in 2005, the venue hosts 1.5 million attendees each year, and sits on 55 acres of land. The attached Hyatt Place Detroit/Novi offers 124 guest rooms and 9,260 square feet of its own meeting space. Attendees enjoy the venue's carefully designed spaces, with a total of only 45 columns throughout the entire exposition space.
