The area of Dominical and Uvita in Costa Rica – also called Costa Ballena – is a natural paradise. A countless amount of rivers and streams run through mountainous jungle; so a waterfall or natural swimming hole is never far away. Visiting a waterfall is a great activity when enjoying a vacation in Dominical & Uvita. We selected the following four waterfalls for you; Nauyaca Waterfalls, Poza Azul, Cascada Verde and Catarata El Pavon.

Whales watching tour

Marino Ballena National Park is home to the southernmost migration point of the humpback whale. This tour is offered the whole year, but whale sightings are most likely (although not guaranteed) during whales season, which runs from end December to April and from July to November.

Snorkeling in Caño Island

The Biological Reserve Caño Island is located in the Pacific Ocean, about 20 km offshore from the Osa Peninsula and is considered one of the best snorkeling and diving spots of Costa Rica. The area contains coral reefs and the visibility of the water can reach up to 20 meters deep (65 feet), which makes it easy to spot the abundant marine wildlife as sea turtles, stingrays, manta rays, moray eels, barracuda, tuna, reef sharks and snappers.
