Edmonton International Airport (YEG)
Located on the southwest side of the city, Edmonton International Airport is 30 minutes from the downtown core. It is one of the fastest-growing and largest (by area) major Canadian airports, and as traffic increases, so has its service. It was recently named the Most Efficient Airport in Canada in its category by the Air Transport Research Society. Serviced by 23 commercial airlines, the airport offers nonstop flights to 60 domestic and international destinations, including cities such as Amsterdam and the new direct flight to San Francisco. The airport recently underwent an expansion, and The Premium Outlet Collection Edmonton International Airport, opened in 2018, is a new shopping experience for the 8.4 million tourists who visit the Edmonton area annually. The airport is a front-runner for cutting-edge developments, including 100% paperless boarding passes and virtual lounges. It also was the first Canadian terminal to achieve LEED Gold certification.
