Ensenada, Mexico Meeting Planning Overview

Located just 70 miles south of the U.S. border, Ensenada is considered Baja California's most cosmopolitan destination – a city that combines the modern and traditional in a charming port setting. Ensenada is located 70 miles south east of Tijuana, and 1,779 miles northwest of Mexico City. The closest airport is in Tijuana. The Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport (TIJ), has international flight to and from most Mexican national destinations. Bus services to mostly regional destinations are offered by Estrella Blanca and ABC. Cruise ships also service the city of La Paz in Baja California Sur as well as Los Angeles and San Diego in California.

Alternatively, the 147-room San Nicolas Hotel and Casino has 13,188 square feet of event space, a restaurant, bar, pool, gym, and banquet services for up to 500.

Thanks to Ensenada's ideal climate and quality soil, wines from the Ensenada region have a reputation as being Mexico's finest. Oenophiles can delight in visits to vineyards in the Guadalupe Valley. There are also several noteworthy cultural venues in Ensenada; these include the Regional History Museum that houses some local archaeological artifacts; and the National Museum of Anthropology and History, which is located in the town's oldest building and displays a comprehensive collection of local artifacts. The city's surroundings also present a variety of adventure tourism and outdoor sports options, both on water - fishing, whale watching, diving and surfing; and on land - climbing, mountain biking, camping and rappelling.
