Fountain Hills, AZ Meeting Planning Overview
You'll know when you've reached Fountain Hills: You'll be surrounded by the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, and you'll likely see a 500-foot-high jet of water spouting from one of the world's tallest fountains. But that's not the only attraction awaiting groups who meet in Fountain Hills venues. The town motto, "All that is Arizona," is a tribute to the area's beautiful Sonoran Desert setting and the wide range of authentic Arizona experiences on offer.
Located approximately 20 miles northeast of Phoenix, Fountain Hills has been cited as "a welcome oasis on the outskirts of a metropolis" by Phoenix Magazine. Planners who visit this oasis will soon discover why. Even though it is only a short drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the town seems much more secluded thanks to its serene foothills setting.
The largest of Fountain Hills meeting venues is the 248-room Radisson Fort McDowell Resort, located on land belonging to Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. This AAA 4 Diamond resort includes a spa, fitness center, casino and 36 holes of golf at the highly ranked We-Ko-Pa Golf Club located adjacent to the property. Other choices for accommodations include the 43-suite Inn at Eagle Mountain, the 32-room Copperwynd Resort and Club and the 104-room Holiday Inn Fountain Hills.
The area is also home to a unique special event venue called Fort McDowell Adventures. Set on 25,000 acres of private land, it can accommodate groups from 10 to 2,000 in a choice of Fountain Hills venues. These include La Puesta del Sol, a Spanish mission-style venue and Rosa's Ranch, a southwestern-themed site ideal for team-building activities and dining under the stars. Fort McDowell Adventures also offers trail rides and cowboy cookouts, along with the Tequila Bus, a funky, tricked-out school bus that takes parties out into the desert for a memorable tequila toast.
Fountain Hills' proximity to wide-open spaces makes it a natural choice for outdoor activities. The town is bordered by McDowell Mountain Regional Park, which offers trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Golf is another popular activity, and several of the area's country clubs, including Desert Canyon Golf Club, Eagle Mountain Golf Club and SunRidge Canyon Golf Club also offer banquet facilities for hosting private events.
