Hobby Airport is one of Southwest Airlines' largest hubs and saw more than 8.8 million passengers in 2007. The airport's one terminal is stocked with such amenities as wireless Internet service, more than a dozen food and beverage establishments and a variety of retail shops.

Island Transit

Island Transit operates the public transportation system in Galveston. Fixed route buses operate in a service area of 27 square miles, while its restored trolley system, known as Galveston Island Trolley, covers six miles.

Island Transit's seven bus routes currently run daily from about 6 AM to 7:30 PM with extended hours on the Bayou Seawall Route. Fares are $0.50 for children and seniors and $1 for adults.
