Gold Coast refers to both the city and an adjacent string of oceanside tourism neighborhoods that attract sun-seeking visitors annually from all over Australia, as well as from farther afield. Located around 66 kilometers south of Queensland's capital, Brisbane, Gold Coast is a world-class MICE destination.
Gold Coast Airport is approximately 25 kilometers south of Surfers Paradise, which forms part of the city's commercial center. The airport is only moments from the beach and a couple of minutes away from the Tweed region in Northern New South Wales.
Chief among MICE venues in Gold Coast is the lagoon-side Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC), which has 10,000 square meters of total exhibition space. The city also has plenty of accommodation options for business travelers to keep them from wondering where to stay in Gold Coast. Some of the city’s best MICE hotels include the 296-room Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach; the 295-room Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort; the 243-room InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort; the 200-room Palazzo Versace; and the 169-room Hilton Surfers Paradise.
Unique meeting spaces in Gold Coast include O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat, which features the purpose built Lost World Conference Centre; and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which provides 27 hectares of bush land and rainforest settings, as well as themed wildlife habitats for all kinds of events.
