With just over 65,200 residents, Jackson is the largest city in Madison County, which is in the western half of Tennessee. A recent $4-million renovation has provided the civic center with state-of-the-art sound and light systems and audio-visual equipment.
Opened in 1991, Fairgrounds Park has rapidly become another one of the top meeting facilities in Jackson. The contiguous pavilions at the park can be enclosed to provide an impressive 47,000 square feet of space, making it a top choice for corporate events, trade shows, expositions, banquets, concerts and more. Its main exhibit building has 25,000 square feet and its two covered pavilions encompass 11,000 square feet each. The park also has grandstand facilities and 1,200 lighted parking spaces.
Hotel venues in Jackson include the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jackson, which has a large ballroom, divisible into three spaces, conference room and poolside natatorium; it is capable of accommodating up to 400 guests for meetings. Signature Hotel, the one and only boutique hotel in Jackson, has a 15-person boardroom and meeting room for up to 75 guests. The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Jackson Northeast, Residence Inn Marriott and Comfort Suites also have event space.
For groups looking to go out of the ordinary for private events, special Jackson event venues and fine-dining restaurants have the answer. Hit a home run at Pringles Park, home of the Jackson Generals and a picnic pavilion, luxury suites and new officer's club for private groups. The beautiful Pickwick Belle paddlewheel riverboat is available for group trips down the Tennessee River. For groups who just want to unwind with some dinner and drinks, Flatiron Grille has 11,000 square feet of dining space and capacity to accommodate events as large as 500 people.
