King of Prussia, or KOP, began as a crossroads for trade and hospitality when The King of Prussia Inn opened in 1769. Long known for being adjacent to Valley Forge, this "census-designated place" is now home to one of the nation's largest malls. KOP is located midway between New York City and Washington, DC, and visitors can rely on Philadelphia International Airport, which is just 17 miles away. Four major highways meet in KOP, and attendees have the option of using area shuttle services, or the SEPTA system to reach hotels and event venues in King of Prussia.
The 108,000-square-foot Valley Forge Convention Center, which overlooks Valley Forge National Historical Park, is the premier meeting venue in KOP. The convention center offers 9 separate meeting spaces that can seat up to 2,200.
The 488-room Radisson Hotel Valley Forge is one of two hotels connected to the Valley Forge Convention Center. The Radisson offers 61 separate meeting rooms with 150,000 square feet and four ballrooms, the largest of which can seat 590 for dinner. The 327-room Dolce Valley Forge has 24,000 square feet, including a stunning 7,020-square-foot Grand Ballroom, and 19 separate breakout rooms. The 160-room Scanticon Hotel and Conference Center is also connected to the convention center and the Radisson. The Scanticon Conference Center has more than 15,000 square feet and 28 rooms, including a multi-level ballroom, The Waterford, which seats 450.
Winterthur, a highly regarded museum devoted to American decorative arts and once the duPont family home, is 23 miles from King of Prussia. Winterthur's venues include the Copeland Lecture Hall, a period room suite for 50, the Reflecting Pool for receptions for 200, the Pavilion for 400, the newly refurbished Conservatory and the Galleries Reception Area for groups of almost any size with additional tenting. Blue Bell Country Club has two ballrooms for up to 280, three private dining rooms and two outdoor spaces for smaller groups. Valley Forge Historical Park is available to groups for outdoor events.
