Room Features and Guest Services
The Sir William Mackenzie Inn makes a fine venue for meetings and conferences. The Inn can provide a theatre-style meeting space that seats up to 100 persons, and we have two smaller rooms that can be used as break-out rooms for group workshops. Seating, tables and needed equipment can be configured to the requirements of most groups. The Inn is available seven days a week for corporate and private events.
Sitting 90 minutes north east of Toronto in the village of Kirkfield, this grand estate was the home of Sir William Mackenzie, best known as co-founder of the Canadian Northern Railway. Situated on 13 acres of woods and gardens, the Inn has been designated an historical site by Parks Canada. Today, the Mackenzie Inn provides elegant accommodation and full service wedding, conference and event facilities.
This historic property has had a colourful history, including nearly 50 years as a convent and school after Sir William's Death in 1923. Originally built in 1888, Sir William and Lady Mackenzie entertained many notable figures at this grand home, including Prime Ministers and European aristocrats. There are a number of ghosts rumoured to have passed through the halls of this 40 room manor.
