Why Choose Our Destination?

South Sarawak is usually the first stop for convention visitors. The region offers a huge variety of facilities, activities and experiences. Kuching, the historic state capital, has 15 international class hotels (3-5-star rating) capable of hosting all kinds of conventions, and many smaller or more specialised venues. Kuching offers nightlife to suit most tastes; cosy corner pubs where you can get to meet the locals, techno and hip-hop clubs for practising your latest dance moves; karaoke lounges for demonstrating your vocal skills, and plush hotel lounges where you can sip cocktails while listening to top live bands from around the region. The Central Region is the place to combine a successful convention with an authentic jungle adventure. Sibu, the main port of the mighty Rejang River, has four international class hotels (3-4-star) offering convention facilities and a total of 703 rooms, as well as some good budget hotels with conference facilities. Sibu is appropriately the home of the Borneo Cultural Festival, and guests can enjoy the riverfront atmosphere and the lively coffee shops, and visit the Iban longhouses at Bawang Assan.North Sarawak has some of the most stunning natural attractions in Malaysia, as well as bustling modern cities and sleepy riverside towns. Centred on Miri, the former oil-town that is rapidly transforming itself to a resort city, the region is also Sarawak's industrial powerhouse, fuelled by the gas and petroleum operations based in Bintulu. Both Miri and Bintulu have a good selection of international class hotels with extensive conference facilities.
