More

1 Main Street – Where it all began! That’s right, if you’re looking to bring ‘ole Vegas’ alive in your next meeting or event, you can only be talking about Downtown Las Vegas. On the very site of the Plaza in 1905 a mesquite tree stood and that is where the original parcels of land that make up Fremont Street Experience today were auctioned off. The Plaza came along in 1971 after the site also served as a train station which eventually became part of the Hotel. See we’re all about our heritage and Vegas legacy. Over 30,000 sq. ft. of space (not including foyers, outside spaces, restaurants, and/or showroom) AND home to Downtown’s largest ballroom! Great food and great value. Check out our food court -They will join McDonald’s, Fresh Mexican Grill, Subway, Coffee Bar, Aloha Grill and Pop Up Pizza. If you really want to eat hearty, be sure to visit Hash House A Go-Go. There’s a reason their tag line is “Twisted Farm Food”. Oscar’s Steakhouse, well that’s another story….literally. This isn’t just any steakhouse (and they have other things too). Oscar is for Oscar Goodman…former Las Vegas MOB defense attorney AND former Mayor! Hey, it’s Vegas and his wife is the current Mayor. The dining room is set in a glass dome overlooking the Fremont Street Experience and if the booth looks a little familiar, well it’s because you saw it in Casino, the movie. The lounge is a great starting point and this along with a private dining room are available for groups should you be inclined to take a portion or the whole place over for an event. Our outdoor patio seating opened in Spring 2023. What makes Downtown so special? Where do we begin? It’s affordable, there is a ton of things to do and it’s all pedestrian friendly. This isn’t the downtown you once knew. Not even close. Like the arts? Check out the Smith Center for the Performing Arts or perhaps the Neon Museum (you didn’t think we let go of all that beautiful neon did you?) Like shopping? There are shops all up and down Fremont, inside the hotel/casinos and we’ve got this little place called Premium Outlet North outside our back door. We’ve got all kinds of great independent spots covering every genre – billiards bar, a theater that’s a bar/lounge, hog-inspired (that’s motorcycles not a farm), and good ole dance hall. Shows, concerts (some of them are even free!) and did we say affordable! And last but certainly not least as we just give you a glimpse of what there is Downtown, we haven’t forgotten the foodies. Wait til you see all the different restaurants that are popping up. Your taste buds won’t be disappointed we promise. Plaza...creating a better Vegas meeting.
