Long Beach is bordered by five-and-a-half miles of clean, sandy beaches that make for a quintessential SoCal event setting. Guests can take the scenic drive along the coast on Ocean Boulevard to the Belmont Shore/Alamitos Bay section of the marina to enjoy a host of Long Beach marina area event venues, restaurants and hotels.
The Long Beach marina area lends itself well to outdoor functions. In fact, the shoreline is home to notable events such as the Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix and Long Beach Jazz Festival. Marina Park has both grassy and sandy areas for corporate picnics and luncheons. Nearby, Marine Stadium Park was the site of the 1968 Olympic rowing trials and is ideal for large private events and parties. Indoors, the Long Beach Museum of Art, located near the start of Ocean Boulevard, has several stunning venues for cocktail parties, holiday parties, awards dinners and more.
One of the most notable sections of the marina area is "Naples," a neighborhood made up of three islands divided by canals designed to resemble those of the romantic Italian city of the same name. Gondola Getaway offers rides for groups of 10 to 50 guests through the waterways along with appetizer packages, perfect for a pre-dinner reception on the water. Corks Away Wine Adventures also has unique function space in the marina area, offering tour packages for two to 100 people that range from wine tastings at the port to mimosa cruises around Naples and Alamitos Bay.
With its waterfront views and fresh, open spaces, the marina area in Long Beach is also a hub for dining. Several restaurants make their home on Ocean Boulevard, from the laid-back Sup Cafe to the lively Yankee Doodles sports bar, which has enough room for private parties of up to 400 people. Also lining the shore is Belmont Brewing Company, Southern California's oldest operating brewpub. Its spacious patio overlooking the beach can accommodate up to 100 people.
A variety of restaurants with private event space also line the marina itself. The stylish McKenna's on the Bay has marina views, top-notch seafood and banquet facilities for up to 65 guests in its Balboa Room. The Crab Pot, La Palapa Restaurant and La Creperie Cafe also offer private event facilities in the Long Beach marina area.
