The Brown Hotel is minutes away from the Muhammad Ali International Airport, and only a few short hours from both Indianapolis and Cincinnati. From Muhammad Ali International Airport : Take 264 East one mile to I-65 North. Traveling north for 4.8 miles, take exit 136A toward Broadway/Chestnut Streets. Merge onto Brook Street turning left on Broadway. The Brown Hotel is only 4 blocks down on the corner of 4th and Broadway. Turn right at the light. The front entrance and valet station is immediately to your right, facing 4th Street. From Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport: Take Interstate 71 South to Louisville. Exit onto Interstate 65 South towards Nashville. Take first exit on right, Jefferson Street. Turn left onto 3rd Street. Hotel Garage is 5 blocks ahead on left. From Indianapolis International Airport: Take Interstate 65 South to Louisville. Once you cross into Kentucky Take the Jefferson Street exit on right. Turn left onto 3rd Street. Hotel Garage is 5 blocks ahead on left.

In the 1920's, The Brown Hotel drew over 1,200 guests each evening for its dinner dance. By the wee hours of the morning, guests would grow weary of dancing and make their way to the restaurant for a bite to eat. Sensing their desire for something more glamorous than traditional ham and eggs, Chef Fred Schmidt set out to create something new to tempt his guests' palates. His unique dish? An open-faced turkey sandwich with bacon and a delicate Mornay sauce. The Hot Brown was born!
