Maitland is located 18 miles for Orlando International Airport, 14 miles from Orlando-Sanford International Airport, 19 miles from the Orange County Convention Center and 21 miles from Walt Disney World.

Chief among stand-alone venues in Maitland, the Maitland Civic Center, a meetings mainstay for more than 43 years, can accommodate larger group functions with 8,000 square feet of meeting space that includes three meeting rooms, a 3,300-square-foot auditorium suitable for 500 attendees theater-style and the 2,700-square-foot East Wing, which can accommodate 200 people for banquets.

The two largest hotel venues in Maitland are the 390-room Sheraton Orlando North, which has 15,000 square feet of meeting space with 15 meeting rooms (including the 7,505 square foot Grande Galaxy Ballroom, which can host 1,000 for a cocktail reception); and the 143-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando-Maitland, which has two meeting rooms and 1,000 square feet of meeting space. Both of the hotels are situated near Interstate 4 affording quick and easy access to Winter Park and downtown Orlando.

Known for its commitment to the arts, venues in Maitland offer groups a variety of cultural activities. These include the Maitland Art Center, which was founded as an art colony in 1937 and features gallery exhibitions; the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida, home to a museum with exhibits and a research library; and Enzian Theater, an artsy movie theater featuring independent films.

Italian food lovers relish Maitland's excellent line-up of group-friendly restaurants serving specialties like Pasta Carbonara, Fried Calamari and Chicken Saltimbocca. Among the top choices are Antonio's La Fiamma, Bucca di Beppo and Francesco's Ristorante. Maitland is situated a mile north of Winter Park Village, a sprawling shopping and dining complex with restaurants such as Cheesecake Factory, Mitchell's Fish Market and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse.
