Few meetings destinations can match the historic hometown/cultural punch that Marietta offers, along with its proximity to metro Atlanta. Marietta is in Georgia's historic Cobb County and is one of Atlanta's largest suburbs. Meeting venues in Marietta have a unique big-city, down-South mix, and attractions like the famous Big Chicken — an animated 60-foot red and white metal sculpture that serves as a landmark (as well as a directional marker that signals Atlanta-bound pilots to begin descending) displays Marietta's light-hearted sensibility.

Lush greenery and nearly year-round temperate weather make outdoor-centered venues in Marietta popular. The four-acre Gardens at Kennesaw Mountain includes three separate buildings where groups can convene, and the Marietta Educational Garden Center, an antebellum home on 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens, invites up to 250 to enjoy a reception. The center also offers tours.
Quality entertainment is easy to find here, including the Theatre in the Square, a full time professional theater group that draws theater-lovers from across metro Atlanta; the facility offers unique event space. Marietta is also home to Six Flags White Water Atlanta, a 47-acre water park that's also a fun event venue, with private picnic areas and full-service catering.
Within two miles of downtown Marietta, visitors can also reflect on the area's rich Civil War past at the Marietta National Cemetery, Confederate Cemetery and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.
