The Hotel Barracuda is situated on the enchanting bay of Marina di Campo, on the southern part of Elba. The hotel, which has recently been renovated, started life in the 60s, instituted by Pietro Sala the professional sportsman and athletics trainer with Fausto Coppi's cycling team. It was the great champion cyclist Coppi himself who during a visit to the island fell in love with the gulf of Marina di Campo. This enchanting location has always been highly valued by the island's vacationers, so much so that it has earned itself the title "The pearl of Elba".
