New Jersey's event capital is one of the most dynamic destinations in the world, offering a tremendous array of experiences, events, and entertainment. The Meadowlands region's proximity to mass transit and Newark International Airport makes it easy to get to, and to the south lies the quickest access in and out of New York City via the Lincoln Tunnel or the George Washington Bridge.
Chief among the Meadowlands region's meeting venues is the Meadowlands Sports Complex. Actually comprising three discrete venues — Meadowlands Racetrack, Izod Center, and the New Meadowlands Stadium — the Meadowlands Sports Complex is in East Rutherford, about 6 miles from New York City. Izod Center (formerly Continental Airlines Arena) includes 25,000 square feet of exhibition space and can arrange player appearances at company meetings, team-building events, and awards ceremonies. The Meadowlands Racetrack, which features harness racing, invites groups to name a race after their company, mascot, or VIPs.
Many of the meeting venues in Meadowlands/Bergen County, such as Hyatt Place, provide shuttle service to area airports, attractions, mass transit hubs, and New York City. The Hilton's Executive Meetings Center is an IACC-approved conference center with 21 state-of-the-art meeting rooms, including a grand ballroom that accommodates 750 for a meeting or 500 for a banquet. A second Meadowlands/Bergen County meetings venue with IACC approval is at the 427-room Hilton Meadowlands, where 30,000 square feet of versatile function space includes two ballrooms.
Dining venues in the Meadowlands region feature award-winning chefs; familiar brand names such as Maggiano's, Chart House, and Houlihan's; and smaller, locally owned venues including LaReggia and Redd's, which can accommodate groups from 50 to 500.
Pre- or post-meeting, attendees may want to indulge in a trip to the Meadowlands region's famous shopping destinations, such as the Garden State Plaza, Bergen Fashion Centre, and Jersey Gardens.
