Mt. Charleston, NV Meeting Planning Overview

The meeting venues in Mt. Charleston are perfect for companies looking for a quiet place surrounded by pines and aspens. Even though it is just 30 minutes from downtown Las Vegas (its gateway is McCarran International Airport), Mt. Charleston is a world away from the neon and is known for rustic elegance in a mountain setting. Temperatures on the mountain can be 20 to 30 degrees lower than in the valley, which is a welcome break during the scorching Las Vegas summers. The scenery is also a drastic change: Mt. Charleston is part of the Humboldt-Toiyobe National Forest and is famous for an extensive trail system that takes hikers and bikers to hidden gems such as 5,000-year-old Bristlecone pine, waterfalls and the mountain peak.

Among the meeting venues in Mt. Charleston, larger groups should consider The Resort on Mt. Charleston, located at the bottom of the canyon. On par with any major skiing resort, this venue offers 61 guest rooms, many with balconies overlooking the mountains, and meeting space in the Aspen Room that can accommodate up to 200, as well as a conference room for 40. Events in the Aspen Room can be catered through the property's A Cut Above full-service restaurant. The dining room of the restaurant has been designed around a large pine that grows right through the property.

For a true escape, however, consider Mt. Charleston Lodge, hidden in the heart of the Lee Canyon at 7,717 feet elevation. It offers 23 log cabins and a meeting and event space in the lodge that can hold up to 200. Its centerpiece is a large fireplace, and candlelight dining is complemented by the sound of crackling wood. Hot chocolate and Irish coffee are perfect after a day of skiing or exploring the outdoors.

With Mt. Charleston so close to Las Vegas, visitors can hit the pool and the slopes on the same day. From Thanksgiving to Easter, Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard resort offers groomed slopes, four chairlifts and equipment rentals. Run by a Swiss skier who is a fixture in the Las Vegas community, the resort is friendly to groups and offers classes to accommodate a variety of levels. Chains are required to access the resort during heavy snowfall.
