The New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, or Noida, was set up in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of the state of Uttar Pradesh as part of an urbanization thrust during the mid '70s. It is now a major hub for multi-national firms outsourcing IT services and automobile ancillary units; and its Film City has become a first choice for shooting television serials, news and other entertainment-cum-education programs for various channels. Noida event venues have developed as a result of this combination of industries.
Easily accessible by the recently built Delhi metro that connects it to the center of Delhi, Noida is also accessed by three main expressways. The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, though Noida's helipad is used mainly during events such as the Formula-One, to enable fast transport from the airport.

New among special event venues in Noida, the recently opened, state-of-the-art Ayatti is spread across 21 acres and caters to the growing MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) segment in the country. It has a capacity for 20,000 and comprises a large hall, lounge, 17 meeting rooms, bars, cafes, restaurants, an art gallery (12,000 square feet) and a residential area (11 villas offering 59 rooms).
Hotel venues in Noida include the Radisson Blu Hotel in Greater Noida, which offers meeting space that can accommodate events of up to 450 people.
A major advantage to Noida is that it has Delhi just 10 kilometers away, so trips into the metropolis are easy to arrange. In addition to its other facilities, Noida is the proud location of India's only Formula-One race circuit. Other activities include teeing off at the picturesque 8-hole Noida Golf Course has a large lake at the 7th hole.
