North London is a large, gentrified and diverse community with surroundings that stretch from the high energy of central London to the winding green countryside and affluent suburbs of Hampstead Heath and Epping Forest. It is a thriving area that contains many lively open-air markets such as the Camden Lock Market on Regents Canal (a "must do" weekend destination); and it is home to the stunning Gothic architecture of St. Pancras Station (which connects London to continental Europe via Eurostar), as well as several stunning North London venues.
Principally an affluent residential area, North London stretches from Regent's Park right up to the edge of the M25 motorway. It is a major gateway to mainland England and Scotland via the Euston and Kings Cross railway stations and the M1 and M11 motorways. Rail services also link it with Stansted Airport, the UK's third-busiest international airport.
Situated more centrally and overlooking Regent's Park itself, the Royal College of Physicians is an award-winner among North London venues, suitable for conferences, meetings and banquets for medical and business groups. Hotel venues in North London include the Novotel St Pancras with 312 rooms and a 446-seat auditorium; the 364-room Hilton Paddington with a 490-seat meeting venue; the 334-room Holiday Inn Regent's Park, which can cater for up to 500 delegates and the 306-room Wembley Plaza Hilton, located adjacent to the Stadium with over 20 meeting rooms. The 463- room Thistle City Barbican can accommodate up to 170 delegates in theater-style seating.
To the west of this area, the world-famous Lord's Cricket Ground offers conference buyers the option of the elegant and historic Pavilion or the modern architecture of its new Media Centre, with the largest capacity room, the Nursery Pavilion, holding 1,000 guests. Further out, and continuing the sporting theme, the magnificent new Wembley Stadium offers seven individual halls, many of which look out over the famous pitch, that can accommodate up to 1,800 delegates in theater-style seating.
Farther north and with commanding views of London, the historic Alexandra Palace offers a range of large multi-purpose halls and rooms with almost limitless possibilities for exhibitions, conferences and large-scale business events across 139,932 square feet of space and with a maximum capacity of 13,000 delegates in theater-style seating, or even a banquet for 7,000 guests.
