Just 20 miles west of Chicago, Oak Brook meeting venues see a lot of corporate business. This premier DuPage County community serves as headquarters for such world-class corporations at McDonald's Corporation, ACE Hardware, Blistex and Lion's Club International.
Oak Brook is also known for its convenience. It is served by Chicago's Midway International Airport and O'Hare International Airport, located just 16 miles from O'Hare International and 20 miles from Midway International. Oak Brook is also served by the corporate-travel DuPage Airport.
Among the unique meeting venues in Oak Brook, Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus offers access to both in-hotel and Hamburger University function spaces for a total of 47,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space. Set on acres of lush grounds, complete with an outdoor team challenge course, the newly-renovated, 217-room hotel is the former private hotel for Hamburger University. Today, the hotel offers a ski lodge vibe with the business savvy of an international corporate headquarters and features such meeting amenities as a full-service business center, on-site meeting planners and audio-visual technicians and catering services. Meeting spaces include a 299-seat tiered auditorium, 5,100-square-foot ballroom and glass-enclosed pavilion overlooking a natural forest setting for up to 300 guests – one of many elegant venues in Oakbrook. The Hyatt Lodge also features such recreation opportunities as a sand volleyball court and four miles of jogging trails, as well as whirlpools, an indoor pool, health club, spa and both indoor and outdoor dining.
Some fantastic dining venues in Oak Brook include local favorites The Clubhouse, Reel Club and Grotto, as well as locations of local chain Gibson Bar and Steakhouse and regional chain Wildfire.
In between meetings and events, visitors can shop the world-class, open-air Oak Brook, which features more than 160 specialty shops. Located less than two miles from the Hyatt Lodge, the Mayslake Peabody Estate is a country retreat open for guided tours and facility rentals.
Visitors may also tour the beautiful Lynfred Winery, the oldest, largest and continuously-operating winery in Illinois. In operation since 1979, Lynfred Winery produces more than 50 varietals and 25,000 cases of wine per year, as well as offers such private events as five-course dinners, wine and cheese tastings and daytime winery tours. For a taste of nineteenth-century DuPage County, visitors frequent the Graue Mill and Museum, Illinois' only operating waterwheel grist mill. The mill and museum offers living history presentations, including milling, spinning and weaving demonstrations.
