Situated near the Stanislaus River, Oakdale, so named for the groves of oak trees that line the hills, boasts an impressive history.
Stanislaus County is in the heart of California's great agricultural northern San Joaquin Valley. This area produces dairy, poultry, almonds, peaches, apricots, grains, and truck crops.
Water recreation abounds in our area. Woodward Reservoir, just north of Oakdale has 3,200 land acres and 2,800 acres of water. It is a favorite of swimmers, fishermen, sail boaters and water skiers.
