John Wayne Airport (SNA)

Located just 16 miles from Anaheim, the John Wayne Airport is the only commercial service airport in Orange County. Known as the gateway to Orange County, the airport offers non-stop service to over 15 destinations in the United States, including Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Houston and Minneapolis.
The airport has several fast food and full-service eateries as well as a number of gift shops and newsstands. Parking is available in a valet lot, terminal lot and Parking Lot C, which offers shuttle service to the terminal. Parking is set at $2 per hour. Terminal parking is a maximum $20 per day and Parking Lot C charges up to $17 per day. The John Wayne Airport can also be reached via the Orange County Transportation Authority’s 472 and 473 bus routes.

Orange County, CA Train Information
Orange County Amtrak Station
Amtrak offers several stations throughout Orange County, with locations in Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana and Irvine. All four stations serve the Pacific Surfliner route, which runs along the Southern California coast from San Diego to San Luis Obispo; this route offers 12 daily round trips between San Diego and Los Angeles and between Santa Barbara and San Diego. The Fullerton Station also serves the Southwest Chief route, which runs daily from Los Angeles to Chicago.
Orange County, CA Public Transportation
OCTA Bus Line
The Orange County Transportation Authority’s county-wide bus and paratransit service, named among the best public transportation systems by the American Public Transportation Association, operates daily on nearly 80 routes. OCTA offers local, express and OC Express buses; all OC Express bus seats offer an element of personal luxury with a lap tray, power connection and reading light. OCTA provides direct access to the Anaheim Convention Center along Routes 50, 205 and 430 and access to the Orange County/John Wayne Airport along Routes 472 and 473.
One-way bus fare is $1.50 for local routes, $4.50 for express routes and $3 for OC Express routes. Local rates are $4 for a one-day pass, $20 for a seven-day pass, $35 for a 15-day pass, $55 for a 30-day pass and $36 for a 10 one-day pass bundle. A one-day express pass costs $9, while a 30-day express pass is $150. A one-day OC Express pass is $6, while a 30-day OC Express pass is $100. Children ages 6 and under ride free.
OCTA Metrolink
Metrolink, Southern California’s rail system, operates 11 stations throughout Orange County including two Anaheim stations. Metrolink runs 44 round trips every weekday along three lines and even offers free transit connections to many Los Angeles destinations and tourist sites.
The Orange County Line provides weekday and weekend service from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside, while the Inland Empire-Orange County Line provides weekday and weekend service from San Bernardino to Oceanside. The 91 Line provides weekday service from Riverside to Los Angeles Union Station via Fullerton and Buena Park.
Metrolink fares vary by distance traveled; one-way, round-trip, 10-trip, monthly and weekend passes are available. Children ages 5 and under ride free.
Anaheim Resort Transit
The extremely convenient Anaheim Resort Transit serves the Anaheim Resort District, which encompasses the Disneyland parks and the Anaheim Convention Center, as well as hotels, retail, dining and entertainment venues. The bus transit system operates on 16 interchangeable routes, allowing for easy access to all Anaheim Resort District destinations.
One-way fares are $3 for adults and one-day passes are $4 for adults. Three-day and five-day passes are also available, at $10 and $16 for adults, respectively.
Rental Cars
Orange County area airports have several on-site and off-site rental car companies. Popular on-site companies include Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National.
Rental counters can be found at the arrivals level between Terminals A and B at John Wayne Airport. At Los Angeles International, travelers can use courtesy shuttles offered by 10 of the airport’s 40 rental car agencies for direct access to agency pick up.
At LA-Ontario International Airport, passengers can reach on-airport rental car agencies Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National and Thrifty by shuttle to the Consolidated Rental Car Facility. Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National service Long Beach Airport’s Rental Car Center, accessible by shuttle.
Taxis
Travelers can use taxi service from each of the Orange County area airports to downtown Anaheim. Expect fares of about $40 from John Wayne Airport and $90 from Los Angeles International Airport to the Anaheim Resort District and convention center area. Fare is about $90 from LA-Ontario International Airport and $45 from Long Beach Airport.
Taxi rates in Anaheim are $2.95 for the first quarter mile and $0.65 for each additional quarter mile. Taxis can be hailed on the streets or found at hotel taxi stands.
