Additional Information

The Beach Club Resort was the second resort in British Columbia to achieve 5 Green Keys with the Green Key Eco-Rating Program. The Green Key Eco-Rating program formalizes the measurement and adherence to environmentally sustainable business practices for hotels. The main areas that the Green Key Program measures are: - Energy and Water consumption - Solid and Hazardous Waste management - Air quality - Environmental impact of building and land use - Community Outreach Our measurement of environmental impact extends to our suppliers, too. Through our partnership with our paper supplier Tork, we have reduced by our environmental impact by saving 55 trees, 22 thousand gallons of water, 13 thousand kilowatts of energy and by keeping 9.7 cubic yards of waste out of the landfill. Our soap recycling program and partnership with Clean the World allows us to recycle the partially used soaps from the hotel rooms and reduce the amount of waste that we contribute to the local landfill. The recycled soap is then used to form bars that are donated to aid agencies working in third world countries to help reduce illness through proper hygiene practices. Our Foot Prints Environmental Sustainability Pledge helps to educate and inform guests on how they can participate in our energy and water consumption reduction initiatives. The pledge causes an immediate reduction of demand on local resources and reminds our guests to respect Parksville Beach by asking them to be conscious of the eco-systems and not to remove plant or animal life from the beach to ensure that future generations can enjoy the beach. Our goal at the Beach Club Resort is to be an industry and community leader with regards to environmental sustainability.
