More than 2,000 feet of floodwall space is dedicated to the depiction of the Portsmouth area's history by internationally known muralist Robert Dafford. The murals can be viewed along Front Street, which is within walking distance of the historic Boneyfiddle District.
The museum located in downtown Portsmouth, Ohio, presents a 10-month schedule of changing exhibits. Ranging from fine arts to history and the humanities. The museum's permanent collections also include the Carl Ackerman Collection of Historic Photographs; an enormous photographic history of the area, the Anne Louise Stanton Antique Doll Head Collection, a comprehensive survey of the 19th century Golden Age of Dolls.
