For planners looking in the Chicago area for meeting and event venues with easy international access, Rosemont O'Hare venues are conveniently located just two miles outside of the world-renowned O'Hare International Airport. Rosemont offers a variety of meeting facilities and an up-and-coming downtown entertainment district.
Part of Cook County and situated just 17 miles northwest of Chicago, Rosemont is home to the sprawling 840,000-square-foot Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. The center offers a contiguous 250,000-square-foot hall, a 30,000-square-foot ballroom, a 30,000-square-foot lobby, six exhibit halls and 50 meeting rooms. It's connected via covered skybridge to an 8,000-space public parking garage, the 1,100-room Hyatt Regency O'Hare, 300-room Hilton Rosemont Chicago O'Hare (which recently completed a $15 million renovation), 293-room Embassy Suites O'Hare-Rosemont and 369-room Doubletree O'Hare-Rosemont.
Allstate Arena, one of the largest indoor entertainment facilities in the Chicago region, is one of the prime event venues in Rosemont. The arena accommodates private events, which can be held in a number of flexible staging and floor configurations, including a 12,500-square-foot hall, four mezzanine meeting rooms accommodating 50 guests each and two additional meeting rooms accommodating 250 people each. The arena features 4,500 on-site parking spaces, full-service catering and access to regional public transportation.
Dining options in Rosemont include such delicious neighborhood options as Carlucci, Nick's Fishmarket, Rosewood and Cafe Zalute, as well as a location for the local chain Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse.
Attractions that offer meeting venues in Rosemont include the plush Rosemont Theatre, a 4,400-seat theater that offers private event space throughout its mahogany-trimmed lobby and multi-level VIP room, augmented by such meeting amenities as full-service catering and state-of-the-art sound and lighting. Groups can also meet at the Muvico Rosemont 18, which celebrates the bygone era of cinema in a theater full of modern amenities. The Muvico Rosemont 18 offers private rentals and showings, catered by the cinema's very own Bogart's Bar & Grill. Other Rosemont attractions include the Donald E. Stephens Museum of Hummels (currently closed for relocation). The museum contains more than 1,000 rare M.I. Hummel figurines and ANRI carvings donated from former mayor Donald E. Stephens' own collection.
The municipality recently announced plans for a new multi-million-dollar downtown entertainment district, which will include a number of restaurants, attractions and new event venues for Rosemont. Coined The Park at Rosemont, the 350,000-square-foot area, complete with outdoor plaza, is slated for a spring 2012 completion.
