Known mainly as a quaint and verdant suburb of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Roseville is a destination valued for convenience, and with one of the lowest lodging tax rates in the metro Twin Cities area. With many Roseville event venues undergoing renovations or having just completed renovations, groups can be assured of up-to-date facilities.
At just 10 minutes from the vibrant downtowns of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Roseville provides easy access to the Twin Cities. The Minneapolis and Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is just a 20-minute drive from Roseville. Along with taxis, Roseville bound meeting delegates can take Light Rail ($2.25) to downtown Minneapolis than catch a taxi to Roseville ($10-15).
Hotel venues in Roseville include the 79-room Fairfield Inn & Suites, the 81-room Country Inn & Suites and the 119-room Holiday Inn Express. In addition, the 255-room Radisson, Roseville's largest hotel with 8,000 square feet of meeting space, is going through a complete renovation which is set to be completed by spring 2013. Elsewhere, there is the 120-room Courtyard by Marriott, the 108-room Residence Inn and the 81-room Country Inn & Suites.
With an eclectic blend of event venues, Roseville offers a diversity of style. The most high-profile facility for both meetings and special events is the Roseville Skating Center, where its Olympic Room is capable of accommodating groups up to 300 for a banquet and 600 for a reception. Two smaller meeting rooms each seat up to 30 people. The center's function space overlooks the Guidant John Rose MN OVAL. It is one of North America's largest sheets of refrigerated outdoor ice and plays host to regional, national and international speed skating. Two other Roseville meeting options are Roseville Vine Hall Banquet Center, which can accommodate up to 300; and Northwestern College and Radio, which can provide a 1,500-seat performance hall and a variety of meeting rooms. The brand new Billy Graham Community Life Commons also has several spaces for conferences and banquets.
There are also two facilities three miles south of Roseville that often partner with the city's hotels to provide room blocks. Both the Continuing Education and Conference Center at the University of Minnesota, which can handle up to 440 participants for a meeting, and the Minnesota State Fairgrounds have limited lodging options. Minnesota State Fairgrounds has 15 buildings ranging in size from 10,000 to 60,000 square feet.
Roseville's proximity to the Twin Cities means most groups host their off site events at places such as Padelford Riverboats, Guthrie Theater, and Mill City Museum.
