About This Service Provider

VIDEOGRAFIX has been providing quality video and event services to small and medium sized companies around the Silicon Valley since the late eighties. The company started when two enterprising videographers realized there was a real need among local businesses for affordable and competent video services. With their years of experience in the industry, Bill & John figured out that that need could be met by the confluence of the personal computer, and a rapidly developing supply of 'prosumer' video gear (does anyone remember S-VHS? That was back in 1989... In the mid nineties, we were among the first adopters of the then new DV digital video format for small cameras, offering a level of video quality that was formally unattainable at that price level. It also ushered in the first true digital PC based editing systems, albeit with limited disk sizes. (We paid over $1,000 for our first 1GB video disk drive! How things have changed...) Today, we still use the ubiquitous standard definition DV format for projects that suit the 4:3 aspect ratio (such as talking heads on the Web), but have upgraded our camera equipment to SONY High Definition (16:9 HDV) to keep pace with the latest developments in video technology. We've also added considerably to our production capabilities over the past few years, with the acquisition of a 4-meter camera crane/jib; two camera dollies (with 40+ feet of track); significant green-screen experience; and access to a full vest Glide-Cam set-up and operator, as well as a variable Depth of Field adaptor for truly cinematic looking video.
