...In May 1923, the Shreveport Times announced the $750,000 price tag of a new 2,500-seat opera house. Completed in 1925, the Strand Theatre is the Official State Theatre of Louisiana and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Over the years, the Strand has undergone many physical and cultural changes, but this restored historic theater continues to offer Broadway and off-Broadway productions, concerts, and shows. The Strand is also available for private receptions in its elegant foyer.

...Located on the banks of the Red River in Bossier City, the 850,000-square-foot Louisiana Boardwalk is the largest combination, shopping, dining and entertainment development in Louisiana. Since its opening in 2005, its attractions continue to be its 70 retail outlet stores, riverfront cafes and restaurants, and an entertainment area including a 14-screen Regal Cinema movie theater and a bowling alley. Designed to resemble a small town with intersecting streets, the development also offers a wheelchair-accessible, clean-air trolley built during the 1920s.
Attendees can stroll the riverfront on the 2,500-foot-long Boardwalk Promenade, which is illuminated nightly, or enjoy the Boardwalk Feature Fountain in the Entertainment District, a Vegas-style water show erupting twice every hour. The Louisiana Wildlife Carousel, which features 30 classic animals (including a few Louisiana alligators), is enjoyed by children of all ages.
The on-site hotel is the Courtyard by Marriott Shreveport-Bossier City/Louisiana Boardwalk, with 119 rooms (including 9 suites) on 3 floors and 1 meeting room for a total of 920 square feet of meeting space.
Louisiana Boardwalk is open Monday through Thursday from 10 AM - 9:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM. (Hours are subject to change.)

Groups can browse more than 290 exhibits relating to math, science, and space exploration, including daily changing programs.
Sci-Port Discovery Center offers more than 10 private event venues with catering provided by Louisiana Food Service & Catering. Rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of downtown Shreveport and the Bossier City Riverfront. Meeting attendees can dine, take in an IMAX show and explore the world's only open-access space planetarium. Themed events can include "Under the Stars" mingling, dining and dancing in the Sawyer Space Dome Planetarium and Windham Family Rooftop Terrace or guest appearance by roaming Math & Science "magicians."
Sci-Port Discovery Center is open September through February, Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturdays 10 AM to 6 PM and Sundays noon to 6 PM. March through August, hours are Monday to Saturday, from 10 AM from to 6 PM and Sundays noon to 6 PM. General admission for both Sci-Port and IMAX is $18 for adults and $13 for children under 13. Group rates for 15 or more are available.

...After 8 years of personal labor and $1-million investment, Columbia Cafe's owner Matthew Linn transformed a 1932 Historic Highland neighborhood bungalow into a renowned local restaurant. The restaurant boasts special antique touches such as the 200-year-old piano, lovingly played by local musicians each night. The decor also features a rotation of works by local artists. Columbia Cafe's menu changes daily, featuring contemporary and continental cuisines, including infusion of herbs into its seasonal menus from its outdoor garden.
Columbia Cafe hosts private events for up to 36 in the soundproof main dining room, also offering wireless Internet and audio-visual ready. Intimate gatherings can be hosted for up to 12 in the Columbia Cafe's solarium, or a small group of six in its hidden private room.
Columbia Cafe is open Tuesday through Friday from 7 AM to 10 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 10 PM. On Sunday, brunch is served from 10 AM until 2 PM.
