The historic home of the celebrated Victorian ‘father of geology’, Charles Lyell, Bartley Lodge features soothing bedrooms with sumptuous linens, power showers and a menu bursting with classic and contemporary dishes made from the finest local produce. Our sitting rooms have endless cosy nooks and corners with squashy sofas and armchairs, where you can relax with a drink or a coffee or catch up on a good book. Whether you’re coming for a short break, a weekend, or a pre-cruise stopover, we have everything to ensure you can take it easy; from our eight acres of landscaped grounds (with the odd, New Forest pony occasionally showing up!) as well as an enormous stone terrace with plenty of seating and a pristine indoor swimming pool.
