Additional Information
Abraham Lincoln is Springfield’s most famous citizen. While in Springfield your convention attendees can experience many steps in Abraham Lincoln’s life. Your attendees can visit the reconstructed village where Lincoln spent six years of his early adulthood and began studying law, to his law offices where he practiced law for nearly a decade. Here they can journey through Lincoln’s Neighborhood, visiting the only home Lincoln ever owned, tour the Old State Capitol where he delivered his famous “House Divided” speech, pay tribute to our sixteenth president at Lincoln’s Tomb and let the technology of the 21st century bring his story to brilliant life at the world-class Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
Be sure to give your convention attendees some extra time to “Get your kicks on Route 66”. Route 66 runs right thru the heard of Springfield, featuring sites like the Route 66 Drive-in, Cozy Dog Drive in, and the one-of-a-kind Shea’s gas station museum.

Springfield offers more than just the Lincoln Sites and Route 66. The Illinois State Museum, the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Dana Thomas House, the Executive Mansion, the Washington Park Botanical Gardens, and the Carillon (the third largest bell tower in the world) just to name a few.
