National Monument includes 50,000+ acres of lakes, lava flows, and incredible geologic features. The highest point is the summit of Paulina Peak (7,985 ft.), with incredible views of the Cascades and the high desert. Hiking, biking, fishing and boating are favorite activities in the summer. Located just off U.S. Hwy. 97, a few minutes north of the Resort, Lava Lands offers nature walks, interpretive programs, and displays on the geology, volcanology and the cultural history of Central Oregon. Take a walk over the 7000 year-old lava flow from Lava Butte, or meander through a young ponderosa pine forest. A hike up 500 ft. to the top of Lava Butte offers a panoramic view of Central Oregon, including a spectacular view of the Cascade Range and the northwest flank of Newberry.
The High Desert Museum offers close-up wildlife encounters including: river otters, porcupines, bobcats, birds of prey and a number of reptile exhibits. The museum also includesliving history exhibits, art and culture workshops and classes for all ages. It is nationally acclaimed for inspiring and fostering stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of the High Desert. Located just 10 minutes from Sunriver on South Highway 97, the museum is a "must experience" when on vacation in Central Oregon.
The same team that brought you the award winning Crosswater golf course, brings you the Caldera Links, a family-friendly 9 hole course that makes the great game of golf approachable and enjoyable. Developed by renowned architect Bob Cupp along with Sunriver's own Jim Ramey, Caldera Links includes tour quality bent grass greens and bluegrass tees which are groomed daily by our Crosswater team. Holes range from 60 to 185 yards in length making it the perfect course to hone your skills or introduce your children to the game. Caldera Links is reserved exclusively for Sunriver Resort guests, Caldera Springs homeowners, and Crosswater Club members.
The Woodlands, designed by renowned architec?t Robert Trent Jones Jr. is a Northwest favorite. Noted for its superb conditioning and beautiful setting, the Woodlands is one of the Northwest's finest championship courses. Woodlands' abundance of water and outcroppings of lava rock place a premium on shot accuracy. The Woodlands has also earned Sunriver Resort the distinction as a Golf Magazine Gold Medal Award-Winning Resort.
Honored by Golf Digest as one of "America's 100 Greatest Courses," Crosswater is a heathland-style course situated on 600 magnificently scenic acres of woodlands and carefully preserved wetlands.

Meadows Golf Course

Meadows is acclaimed architect John Fought's latest creation. Meadows features tremendous variety within its 18 holes, seven of which border the meandering Sunriver. Fought's design pays tribute to the great American courses from the 1920's and 30's with its aesthetic grace, while its dramatic use of directional and fore-bunkers serve up ample challenges for golfers of all skill levels.
The Meadows course has played host to numerous USGA and NCAA golf championships, including the NCAA Men's Division I championship tournament.
Largest Northwest Ski Destination. Skiing, Snowboarding, Cross Country, Tubing Park. Famous for its dry and abundant (average 370 inches per year) powder, Mt. Bachelor is just 20 minutes from the Resort. Daily shuttles are available at no charge for Resort guests.
The forested beauty of the Upper Deschutes River provides a natural paradise for rafting, hiking, and observing bird and wildlife. Float through the beautiful Deschutes National Forest, where the flows of lava from Lava Lands National Monument shaped the Deschutes River over 7,000 years ago. Towering ponderosa pines and quaking aspens cover the landscape. Spill into Class II and III rapids just minutes from Sunriver.
