Found about 30 miles west of Taipei, the Taipei Taoyuan International Airport is the largest airport in Taiwan and serves as an international hub for China Airlines and EVA Air. The airport serves almost 40 million passengers each year, with most air traffic to such major cities as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok, and Los Angeles. Passengers can access several bus options at the airport, or utilize the shuttle bus service to the Taiwan High Speed Rail Service (THSR) Taoyuan Station.
Taipei, Taiwan Ground Transportation
The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) line runs along the west coast of Taiwan from Nangang to Zuoying. Visitors to Taiwan most often utilize the system's Taipei City and Taoyuan airport stations. Trains run daily with a number of fare options.
Taipei's Mass Rapid Transit subway system serves metropolitan Taipei along five routes. The system operates daily and fares are based on distance traveled.
There are a number of bus options throughout Taipei and fares are calculated based on a zone system. All buses accept EasyCard and cash payment.
Rental car companies represented at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport include Ching Bing, found in Terminal 1, as well as Avis and Hotai Leasing Corporation, both found in Terminal 2.
