Cvent stands with you during the Coronavirus outbreak. A letter from CEO & Founder Reggie Aggarwal
The Tysons Corner area of Fairfax County, VA (which encompasses the towns of Falls Church, McLean and Vienna) is metro DC's shopping empire. It is home to two upscale shopping malls, Tysons Galleria and Fairfax Square, which draw in 55,000 shoppers from the region every day. The exclusivity of the shopping, dining, business and entertainment venues in Tysons Corner make it a premier spot for meetings.
With 46 million square feet of retail and office space, it is a prime corporate center. Headquartered in Tysons Corner are USA Today, Booz Allen Hamilton, Capitol One, Hilton Worldwide, SAIC, Spacenet and MicroStrategy (not to mention Cvent). These economic powerhouses give way to a multitude of necessary meetings and events, many of which choose the glittering, and state-of-the-art venues in Tysons Corner for their site.
Hotel venues in Tysons Corner include The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner and The Westin Tysons Corner, both of which have more than 13 conference rooms and offer shuttle service or direct access to local corporate offices and shopping. (In fact, The Ritz-Carlton is directly connected to Tysons Galleria, so guests can effortlessly meander between meetings and mall outings.)
The Smithsonian's 2nd National Air and Space Museum at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center houses an overflow of aviation and space artifacts from its National Mall location and boasts several different sized spaces for special events, from a conference room for 50 to a banquet hall for 7,000.
The epicenter of Tysons Corner lies at the intersection of Virginia's Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and State Route 7 (Leesburg Pike). Washington DC's most infamous artery, the 495 "Beltway," runs through Tysons Corner, offering direct access to the city and surrounding suburbs. Traveling in and out of the area will soon be simplified due to plans for an expansion of Washington's Metro rail system. The new Silver Line will extend into Tysons Corner and it is anticipated that the expansion will increase both the frequency of visitors and current population. The area is equidistant from both Dulles International and Reagan National airports, a location conducive to flight and airline flexibility.
The Tysons Corner area requires a good deal of driving. For more centralized location possibilities check out other DC area venues and read about event planning in DC.
