The capital city of Austria, Vienna often ranks as a top international meeting destination. The strategic location of the city in the middle of Europe makes it a favorite among meeting planners. The city is also a governmental and cultural center of Austria – one of the richest countries in the world.
Vienna has stellar tourism attractions both inside and outside the Ringstrasse, the orbital road. The road is lined with majestic edifices such as the Flemish-Gothic Rathaus (City Hall), Vienna Opera House, Palace of Justice, Austrian Parliament Building, and grand hotels such as the Hotel Imperial, which invented a cake called the Imperial torte, rival to the famous Sachertore cake (which is also a Viennese creation).
The largest of Vienna's MICE venues, the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center features an Exhibition Center measuring more than 55,000 square meters that can host up to 30,000 guests and a 7,000 square meters Congress Center with space for up to 3,000 guests.
