West Springfield sits on the west side of the Connecticut River as part of the Springfield, Massachusetts, metro area. At its core is a charming town green that is the site of a number of events, such as the West Side's Taste of the Valley food festival, every June. There are many West Springfield event venues in this very busy retail/restaurant/entertainment area, which offers chain and independent restaurants and stores. Affordability is a draw for meetings in West Springfield, as is the community's close proximity to the City of Springfield, the college towns Northampton and Amherst that sit about 20 minutes north by car, and an abundance of tourism sites in the three-county Pioneer Valley region.
Bradley International Airport, located in Windsor Locks, CT, is about 20 miles south of West Springfield. The airport is served by Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and US Airways, with nonstop flights to nearly all major cities in the northeast and the Eastern Seaboard as well as Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Denver. Windsor Locks is also a destination on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor service.
