York's central Mid-Atlantic location puts meeting participants within easy access of major markets such as Baltimore, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington DC. In addition, York event venues are within a short drive of Lancaster's Amish Country, Gettysburg's battlefields, manicured golf courses and year-round recreation.

York is within a two-hour drive of three international airports, including Harrisburg International Airport, Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and Philadelphia International Airport. Harrisburg International sits within 30 miles of York and offers daily nonstop service to 14 destinations and one-stop connections to cities around the world. Situated within 65 miles of York, Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport runs 66 nonstop destinations in the United States and 10 nonstop international destinations. Located within a two-hour drive of York, Philadelphia International Airport spans seven terminal buildings with 120 gates. Ranked as the ninth-busiest airport in the world, Philadelphia International serves as the international hub for US Airways and provides service to more than 120 domestic and international destinations. Once in York, visitors can hop aboard rabbittransit, which provides daily bus service throughout York, Adams and Northumberland Counties. Rabbittransit operates 15 routes throughout York County and provides direct service to the York Expo Center.

From its multi-faceted York Expo Center to its variety of hotels and meeting facilities, York is well positioned to fulfill meeting, convention and event needs. The York Expo Center offers more than 300,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space spread throughout a 120-acre fenced and gated complex. The 74,000-square-foot Toyota Arena serves as an ideal destination for trade and consumer shows, banquets, concerts, livestock shows and motor sport events. Additional meeting spaces range from the 10,000-square-foot Banquet Center to the 29,264-square-foot Memorial Hall West.

A leading regional arts center, the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in historic downtown York presents Broadway productions as well as comedy, live music and family shows. Home of the York Revolution professional baseball team, the family- and event-friendly Sovereign Bank Stadium accommodates groups in its suites, breakout rooms, classrooms and 500-person picnic pavilion. York visitors looking to experience Civil War history can embark on the Historic Hanover walking tour or visit Penn Park, which served as a haven for ailing soldiers. The York County Heritage Rail Trail offers a glimpse into the past, as does the Hanover Junction Train Station, where President Lincoln stopped and briefly spoke en route to deliver his famous Gettysburg Address. Outdoor enthusiasts will revel in York's natural beauty, ranging from the scenic Susquehanna River to 11 county parks and three state parks, which together offer more than 100 miles of trails. Hit the links at York County's 15 golf courses or cast a line in the 1,275-acre Lake Marburg. Winter activities in York include skiing, ice skating, snowboarding and ice fishing, while milder weather brings opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing and bicycling.

As the Factory Tour Capital of the World, York knows a thing or two about expert operations. Established in 1973 as an assembly facility, the York facility of Harley-Davidson Motor Company welcomes visitors to take part in factory tours for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a legend. The York facility assembles Touring, Softail, CVO and Trike models, as well as performs a variety of manufacturing operations, making fuel tanks, fenders and frames. During the free factory tour, visitors are provided with an overview of the manufacturing and assembly processes of the plant. The factory also features a Steel Toe Tour, which provides visitors with a more in-depth tour experience through the factory. All tour participants must be at least 12 years old. The free, one-hour tour is offered Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 2 PM, while the $35, two-hour Steel Toe Tour is offered Monday through Thursday at 9:30 AM and noon.

The interactive Turkey Hill Experience enables guests to learn how ice cream is made, brainstorm their own ice cream flavors, smell different tea leaves and, of course, sample Turkey Hill tea and ice cream. A perfect way to satisfy a sweet tooth and a healthy dose of curiosity, Hershey's Chocolate World is home to such attractions as the Hershey's Great American Chocolate Tour, a create-your-own candy bar, dessert creation studio and chocolate tasting adventure.

To quench a different kind of curiosity thirst, York visitors frequent the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail and Susquehanna Ale Trail. Both operated by the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the trails enables wine and craft beer enthusiasts to tour 23 family-owned wineries and 11 breweries and brewpubs to learn about the craft and raise a glass or two.

York's culinary scene includes international tastes, farm-to-table preparation and spectacular views. The downtown White Rose Bar & Grill welcomes guests to try their hand at hot rock preparations, while John Wright Restaurant offers a restored warehouse setting and unrivaled Susquehanna River views.
