For those who want to experience the charm of a classic Zanzibar setting with a touch of ancient Arabian mystique, the place is Beyt Al Salaam, formerly known as Beyt Al Chai. This is an exquisite boutique hotel within a traditional Zanzibar house, built on 3 floors on what was once a tea house. Everything about Beyt al Salaam rooms is as authentic old Zanzibari as the great house itself. Each of the 10 rooms and suites are designed with richly coloured organza and silk curtains. The restaurant, simply called Beyt Al Chai Restaurant, is unobtrusively located on the ground floor, away from the rooms.
