Sponsor a Freedom Champion

In addition to hosting the Liberty Forum and Freedom Dinner, Atlas is running a Think Tank Leadership Training seminar. For more information on sponsoring Muhtar or another Freedom Champion attending the training, please click here.

Muhtar is a senior executive at the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs in Malaysia. She was educated at Sekolah Tun Fatimah in Johor, Malaysia, then went on to study engineering at Peterborough Regional College and University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
Her interests in socio-political issues in her homeland changed her career path from engineering to joining the local NGO scene. She worked for Transparency International Malaysia Chapter for a few years with breaks to join a number of election observation missions, both locally and internationally. For example, she served as a long term observer in the Nepal Constituent State Assembly election in April 2008. She is currently the deputy editor of Atlas's AkademiMerdeka.org, a portal to disseminate and inculcate better understanding of classical liberalism ideas in the region of Malaysia and Indonesia.
