In partnership with the United States Department of State and the Mayor's Office of the City of Houston, the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a business conference focused on strengthening Basra and U.S. economic ties. During this inaugural trip, His Excellency Dr. Khalaf is looking to initiate and expand mutually beneficial relationships across multiple sectors including Energy, Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare, and Housing.
Over 15 notable public and private sector leaders will accompany the Governor including the following delegates:

The Province of Basra is home to the vast majority of Iraq's 115 billion barrels of oil and has immense financial resources dedicated to development. In addition to oil and gas, the Province has substantial funding for other priority infrastructure projects.
These significant investments are rapidly increasing the viability of the Province and making it an increasingly attractive place to initiate or expand business operations. The governor's visit will include meetings with the Texas Medical Center, the Sports Authority, thePort of Houston Authority and Bilateral Chamber key members.

The Women’s Global Leadership Conference in Energy and Technology (WGLC) is one of the largest women's events in the industry, and the only one that focuses on discussing key environmental, economic and professional development issues in oil and gas. This year's event was held Oct. 30-31 in Houston, Texas and gave special focus to the theme of "Collaboration in a Global Industry." Attendees heard from top executives representing leading operators and service companies, as well as other leaders from the energy and technology industries.
Saudi Transtec - Post Show Review

The 3rd Edition of the SAUDI TRANSTEC Exhibition & Conference was held from November 11-13, 2012 in Dammam. Once again it provided Saudi Arabia with one of the most comprehensive events in the region for transportation, materials handling, warehousing and logistics.

Dozens of business and civic leaders joined Houston Mayor Annise Parker on an eight day visit to the Middle East November 8-16 on an economic development mission organized by the Bilateral U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce. The 38-member delegation traveled to Saudi Arabia, AbuDhabi, Dubai and Qatar to meet their counterparts and explore business opportunities, partnerships and trade in the sectors of healthcare, water, renewable energy, law, hospitality and education.

Leadership from Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province attended Asharqia Chamber's hosted conference in honor of the Bilateral Chamber delegates.
The delegates had a full schedule in each city, including site visits, networking receptions, conferences and private meetings. They had access to the region's drivers of infrastructure investments including the national oil companies Aramco and ADNOC. Meetings also included the urban development and economic development ministries, and the leadership of the region's airlines Emirates and Qatar Air. Delegates attended the Middle East's largest oil and gas conference (ADIPEC), toured the world's first zero carbon concept city (MASDAR), and learned about hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure projects coming online in the next decade.
