Intel Corporation's Delia Grenville to Receive Technologist of the Year Award

Delia Grenville, Corporate Strategy, Innovation & Platform Engineering, User Experience Architect for Intel Corporation will be named Technologist of the Year at the 20th Annual Women of Color STEM Conference.
 

Delia Grenville is a research scientist, technology strategist, and program manager with a stellar Fortune 200 track record driving large-scale technology change that enhances competitive position, revenues, and market share. Grenville is the inventor of six digital content technologies with patents pending, technologies that allow consumers to filter content streaming to their televisions via the Internet and provide the ecosystem to advertise and enhance the content viewing experience.
 

Involved integrally in the community and external business world, she co-founded “Designing Me,” an organization that seeks to steer professional women into executive and leadership positions. The “Got Strategy” workshop she co-created assists junior and mid-level professionals in setting and executing a career strategy. (Read More)

Women of Color STEM Conference Announces Official Hashtag Campaign #STEMISAGIRLTHING

Nearing its 20th year, the Women of Color STEM Conference has launched its official hashtag #STEMISAGIRLTHING.

 

The #Stemisagirlthing campaign celebrates science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), encourages young women to enter STEM fields, and pays homage to STEM professionals who continuously break barriers in the industry.
 

"#Stemisagirlthing is an empowering hashtag that allows women to celebrate what they love and share their pride in STEM with their social media communities," said CEO and publisher of Women of Color Magazine Tyrone Taborn.
 

"With this hashtag, we hope to build awareness of the need for women in STEM and to motivate girls to follow an educational path in the field." (Read More)

WOC and BEYA Host with the MOST

Longtime BEYA and Women of Color STEM conference host Dr. Pamela McCauley has earned more accolades. She was awarded the Jefferson Science Fellowship with the U.S. State Department for the 2015-2016 terms and elected as Councilor to the 2015 - 2016 Association for Women in Science Board.

 

Jefferson Science Fellowships are prestigious appointments to senior academics based on their stature, recognition, and experience in the national and international scientific or engineering communities, and their ability to understand scientific advancements outside their discipline area in order to integrate this knowledge into U.S. Department of State/USAID policy discussions.Dr. McCauley will be involved in technology assessment and policy researching the Ergonomics of Ebola and Other Infectious Diseases for Healthcare Workers. Women of Color Host Committee Meets in Detroit Friday

Women of Color hosts its monthly committee meeting in the city of Detroit this Friday. 

This meeting brings together local Detroit professionals in the area of STEM, Education, Communication etc. to discuss various developing areas of the conference, including seminars, K-12 pre college program, DIEL college program and conference marketing.

The host committee will meet at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center from noon-1:30PM.
