Quarterly Newsletter Spring 2011 |
Hi Ladies! Happy Spring! Wow – the first quarter has flown by. I know I have had a great time so far. We’ve had some really good workshops, 20 to be exact, and many of you are new to the program, so it’s been nice getting to know you. |
Entrepreneurship Workshop A Big Success For those of you who weren’t there, we had a phenomenal turn out to our first entrepreneurship workshop,"Are you ready to be an entrepreneur?", held on Saturday, March 19th. We had almost 70 attendees and I listened and heard loud and clear that you all want to have more of these events. Of course everything is dependent on funding, but I would like to be in a position to offer at least two of these events each year so stay tuned!Second Quarter CalendarOur new workshop “Teaching Your Children about Money” was launched to great success. So much so that I was asked to teach it at the upcoming 9th Annual Juanita Kidd Stout Youth Economic Empowerment Conference in April. This event is being hosted by one of our partners. It does have a nominal fee associated with it and is open to youth grades 5 through 12 and their parents and guardians. Besides this conference, we have many workshops scheduled for the 2nd quarter. For a complete listing click here. To register for a class click here.
Enjoy, and I hope to see you all at a workshop soon! And don’t forget to share this information with a friend – when it comes to money, we all can use some extra help! Joy Mc Manus Program Manager, FinanciallyHers |

I’ve said it before, but it’s so easy to fall off the wagon when it comes to many things, including one’s finances. One way I keep myself motivated is by reading newsletters and blogs on various topics – I especially like e-newsletters that give advice or tell you something you’ve thought about before but need to hear again. So check out these articles and stay motivated! As we all know, being organized is a big part of staying financially stable and meeting your goals. These next two articles go hand in hand: 5 Frugal Lessons from the Depression My favorite quote: "In a buy-and-toss society full of single-use products, we rarely think about multiple uses for one item. But opportunities still exist." And boy do they, check this out: And finally, I really like this one – very simple but some great tips – Mom’s Time Out (this is good for anyone, whether you’re a mom or not!) |
